01 · Starting point
Situation
Messaging data and workflows had to be moved from Lotus Notes into an Exchange environment without separating the technical preparation from later administration.
Constraints
- Changes within an already established IT environment
- Short, clearly scoped engagement
- Internal system and operating details remain confidential
02 · Responsibility
My scope of responsibility
I designed the migration, supported the technical transfer and prepared documentation and the handover for users and administrators.
- I supported the transfer of data and settings to the target platform.
03 · Technical work
Documented scope of work
Key decisions
Plan migration and operational handover as one continuous process. A successful data transfer is not enough if the target environment, documentation and administrative ownership are not ready at the same time.
- I analysed the Lotus Notes source environment and prepared the Exchange migration path.
- I documented the migrated environment and prepared the handover to users and administrators.
